The British Horseracing Authority were looking for an investigator to look into race fixing and related fraud. With this advert we needed to attract someone who used to work for the police force, had an interest in horseracing and would be highly competent using the most up-to-date, cutting edge technology to gather evidence. This campaign uses a headline which is immediately recognisable to a horse racing fan and has the message of new-technology’s importance in this role. Also included in the advert is a visual of the programme they use to monitor mobile phone calls to help solve investigations.

This advert ran in Police Review and on a couple of specialist websites. They were inundated by response and had 250 candidates apply. Out of a shortlist of 11 they recruited up to 3 investigators and the advert was deemed a huge success.
